ABCMommy Inc.
makes and sells unique handmade accessories for babies, mommies and the
household. The company owner, Dipti Clark, personally makes the unique
handmade items for sale on the website, www.ABCMommy.com.
The concept for
the company was conceived in 2004 while Dipti was on a lengthy bed rest
prior to having her first child. The company was officially launched in
2005 after Dipti made the decision not to return to her corporate
Information Technology job.
Founder
Background
Dipti has over
nine years of experience in the area of Information Technology, with
strong emphasis on client relations, sales & marketing, project
management, and consulting. Her business focus was consumer business, and
she was heavily involved in new business development for credit card
services. This business focus, and her technology background, makes her an
ideal owner to build a successful business.
Prior to
starting ABCMommy Inc. Dipti was a Client Relations Manager for a large
International bank in Illinois; prior to that she was an Assistant Vice
President with another large International bank in Chicago. She began her
Information Technology career with an IT consulting company, first in Pune,
India, then moving to Chicago in 1997. Dipti has a Masters Degree in
Computer Management and a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from the University
of Pune, India.
Company
Concept
While on
maternity leave, friends urged Dipti to bring some of her unique handmade
designs to the market. She began with one sewing machine experimenting
with various patterns for bibs. She finally came up with the design for a
bib that allowed the arms to be snapped off and replaced. This bib covered
the babies' entire arms allowing for a "cleaner" eating
experience. The bibs were a hit and the company was launched.
The name
ABCMommy was used to convey a conscience message about the infusion of
baby and mommy fashions to keep both sides looking hip and cool. Dipti
didn't want the company name to be only baby oriented because her looks
are just as much about the mothers. In fact, the fashions are trendy
enough to be for anyone of any age. Dipti searches all over the World for
fabrics, and leverages her family in India to supplement her product line
with truly unique materials.
The company is
taking a slow and steady approach. Incorporated in 2005, Dipti is working
on brand and product awareness.
